柴田銃江，日本国立研究開発法人森林総合研究所，室长，研究员。Herspecialization is in forest ecology.Herresearch has focused on tree life history, particularly seed and seedling demography of various trees in cool temperate forests. More recently, I have been working on identifying long-term patterns of change in masting (synchronous annual variation in seed production) and their consequences for tree regeneration.

小黑芳生，日本国立研究開発法人森林総合研究所，研究员。Hisspecialization is in plant ecology.Hisresearch has focused on understanding the effects of leaf and flower traits on interactions with insects. I have also conducted research on modelling various ecological phenomena, including tree disease outbreaks, litter decomposition and predicting ecosystem responses to climate change. In recent years I have also been involved in research on modelling ecosystem services, particularly the assessment of cultural ecosystem services using large-scale data.
