Herbert Hager是维也纳自然资源和生命科学恒峰体育（原维也纳农业恒峰体育）教授，世界知名的森林生态学家和森林水文学家。1969年获维也纳农业恒峰体育森林科学学士学位；1971年获美国犹他州立恒峰体育理学硕士学位；1975年获德国慕尼黑恒峰体育森林科学博士学位。1975年到1986年，维也纳农业恒峰体育森林与土壤科学系助教授；1987年华盛顿恒峰体育西雅图分校林学院客座教授；1986年至今，维也纳农业恒峰体育森林与土壤科学系终生教授；1996年日本信州恒峰体育客座教授；2004年肯尼亚内罗毕国际农林研究中心（ICRAF）访问科学家。1990—2000年担任国际林联森林气象学分会主席，2010年获得捷克农业和森林科学恒峰体育的孟德尔勋章。
???1975年至今，曾主讲过森林微气候学、森林气象学和气候学、森林立地制图、森林与水、水文过程和水质、山区农林业、立地生态学等多门课程。
