报告简介:Ginsenosides, a class of tetracyclic triterpene saponins, are synthesized from dammarenediol-II which initially was converted into sapogenin after hydroxylation by the cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes and finally into saponin after glycosylation by the glycosyltransferases. Previously, we functionally characterized the dammarenediol synthases (PgDDS) and two CYP genes (CYP716A47 and CYP716A53v2) involved in dammarene-type ginsenoside biosynthesis in Panax ginseng (Han et al. 2006, 2013, 2014). These findings of genes are amenable to proceed metabolic engineering for production of ginseng sapogenins and saponins. Recently, we established the production system of dammarenediol-II, protopanaxadiol, protopanaxatriol, and compound K via metabolic engineering of tobacco. The production of dammarenediol-II, protopanaxadiol, protopanaxatriol, and compound K was highly fostered in cell suspension culture of transgenic tobacco cells. These engineered products will be applicable to the sources for pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
